TRAINED MENTORS ARE MATCHED WITH PARTNERS WHO ARE COPING WITH SIMILAR SITUATIONS
The program connects an individual who is a "veteran" of a life experience involving Acquired Brain Injury (the Mentor) with someone who is coping with a similar ABI-related situation and is in need of support from a knowledgeable friend (the Partner).
Both Mentors and Partners can be survivors, unpaid caregivers or family members. Prior to acceptance in the program, Mentors and Partners will be interviewed by a Peer Support Coordinator (PSC)- a staff member or volunteer from one of the community brain injury associations. All Mentors must be trained before being matched with Partners.
